1. Problem
Many people struggle to stay consistent with fitness routines. Existing workout apps often overwhelm users with rigid plans, cluttered interfaces, and a lack of personalization. Users feel stuck between generic programs and overly complex tools that don’t adapt to their goals or lifestyle.
2. Solution
To address the problem of overwhelming and rigid fitness apps, the design focused on reducing friction and making routines feel motivating. Workouts, nutrition, and habits were brought together into a single dashboard to give users clarity and control. A playful swipe interaction was introduced to turn workout selection into a quick, engaging task. Personalized guidance from an AI helper provided the human touch missing in competitors, while progress tracking and habit visualization reinforced consistency. The visual system was built with energetic colors, clean typography, and modular components, balancing usability with motivation.
3. Research
I analyzed popular fitness apps and mapped their strengths and weaknesses. While many offered detailed programs, they lacked flexibility, gamification, and clarity in progress tracking. To deepen insights, I conducted user interviews with people who wanted to stay active but often quit due to poor motivation or confusing app structures. These findings highlighted three priorities: simplicity, personalization, and encouragement.

4. Prototype Development
Wireframing
I explored flows that make fitness feel easy to start and hard to drop. Early wireframes tested how to combine daily workouts, nutrition, and habit tracking in one place without overwhelming the user.
High-Fidelity Prototyping
Detailed prototypes brought these flows to life. Key features included a Tinder-like swipe interaction for workouts, making exercise selection feel playful, and an AI helper that provides contextual tips and encouragement.
User Interface Design
The visual language was built around vibrant purple gradients, playful icons, and clean typography. The design system included components for workout cards, trackers, and habit suggestions, ensuring consistency while keeping the experience fresh and motivating.
5. Outcome
Stride reimagines fitness tracking as something personal, supportive, and fun. Users can swipe through workouts, follow personalized meal plans, set goals, and track progress—all within a clear, gamified interface. The AI helper adds encouragement, while goals and habits keep users accountable. The result is a fitness app that makes staying active less of a chore and more of a daily routine users enjoy returning to.
